Julie Beyer is a visual artist and educator. She graduated from the University of Georgia in 2012 with a BFA in Art Education and has lived and worked in Rome, Georgia; Athens, Georgia; Cortona, Italy; Naples, Maine; and Cary, North Carolina.
She currently resides in Durham, North Carolina.
She has worked with children of all ages, from four months to eighteen years. Julie's teaching philosophy is mostly choice-based and focuses on production, creative freedom, and self-motivation. She has mentored, taught, and created classes in a variety of settings including a non-profit arts center, elementary and middle schools in Italy, a Montessori school, a boarding camp, a home-school organization, an alternative education setting ("Unschool"), after-school programs, and summer camps.
